The project involved the construction of a Test and Acceptance Hall together with an office and welfare building, a traction substation building, a technical building, a fire pump station, associated railway infrastructure, retaining structures and a fire water storage tank at the Alstom Konstal manufacturing facility in Chorzów.

The investment represents a key element of the plant’s railway infrastructure development and was designed to support testing and acceptance procedures for newly manufactured railway vehicles. The core of the project is a specialized testing hall that functions as a fully enclosed facility covering railway tracks where technical tests, quality inspections and final acceptance procedures for completed rail vehicles are carried out.

Due to the specific requirements of railway vehicle testing, the facility was equipped with advanced technological solutions supporting both testing operations and maintenance activities. The hall includes overhead cranes, retractable overhead traction systems, technical platforms, inspection and service pits, a water-gate testing area, utility trenches and lifting systems. This extensive infrastructure enables comprehensive acceptance procedures while maintaining the highest standards of safety and operational efficiency.

Modern & Efficient Solutions

The client’s objective was to create a state-of-the-art facility dedicated to testing and commissioning railway vehicles manufactured at the Alstom Konstal plant. The hall enables functional testing of components and electrical systems, watertightness testing of rail vehicle bodies, customer acceptance procedures and the rectification of minor issues identified during quality control inspections.

The project was delivered with a strong focus on construction quality, precise coordination of building and installation works, and the long-term durability of the implemented solutions. The combination of specialized railway infrastructure, advanced technological systems and supporting facilities has resulted in a highly sophisticated testing centre that enhances the plant’s production capabilities and supports projects delivered for both domestic and international customers.
