KARMAR delivered the refurbishment and change-of-use project for a laboratory located within Building A of the Gdańsk Science and Technology Park. The investment was carried out for Polpharma Biologics S.A. and aimed to transform the existing research infrastructure into a facility capable of supporting biopharmaceutical manufacturing.

The project included the refurbishment of laboratory areas, qualification of rooms, systems and installations, as well as the adaptation of the facility to new technological requirements. The works enabled the launch of biological drug manufacturing using the existing laboratory infrastructure, which had previously been dedicated to research and development activities related to protein production and clinical trial materials.

Advanced Solutions
for the Life Science Sector

The project involved the comprehensive reconstruction of specialized cleanroom areas, including solution preparation rooms, upstream and downstream weighing rooms, material and personnel airlocks, storage areas, changing rooms and supporting facilities. Pharmaceutical-grade wall and ceiling systems, specialist doors and windows, as well as homogeneous PVC flooring suitable for controlled environments, were installed throughout the facility.

As part of the investment, KARMAR also delivered new process and technical installations, including compressed air systems, nitrogen supply systems, mechanical ventilation with pressure cascade control, process drainage, chilled water, process heating, electrical and low-voltage installations, BMS, EMS and airlock automation systems. All systems and installations underwent comprehensive testing, qualification and acceptance procedures, confirming compliance with the strict requirements of the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries.
