The Centre of New Technologies I (CeNT I) is a state-of-the-art teaching and laboratory facility delivered by KARMAR for the University of Warsaw as part of the “Centre of New Technologies Ochota” project. The building was designed as an interdisciplinary research centre serving students and researchers in biology, chemistry, biotechnology, computer science and environmental protection.
The facility houses advanced laboratories dedicated to DNA synthesis and sequencing, DNA microarray production, genetic engineering of microorganisms and plants, proteomics, and DNA analysis for medical diagnostics. The building was specifically designed to support cutting-edge scientific research and the development of innovative biotechnology solutions.
Advanced Research and Educational Infrastructure
CeNT I features extensive laboratory facilities, a modern computer hall, and advanced IT and telecommunications infrastructure. In addition to research laboratories, the building includes lecture halls, seminar rooms, administrative offices, technical facilities, storage areas and social spaces for students and academic staff.
The scope of works covered not only the construction of the building itself but also the delivery of all supporting infrastructure, including water and sewage networks, power supply systems, telecommunications infrastructure, district heating connections, roads, parking facilities, landscaped areas and street furniture.
CeNT I was delivered under the Infrastructure and Environment Operational Programme 2007-2013, co-financed by the European Union. The facility is one of the key components of the University of Warsaw’s Ochota scientific campus and represents a modern research infrastructure supporting scientific advancement, innovation and interdisciplinary collaboration across multiple fields of study.
