Security Week for the sixth time

On May 13, the sixth edition of the agreement on safety in construction was launched at the construction sites of companies that make up the agreement on safety in construction Security Week. A unique nationwide initiative that has entered the construction market landscape forever, bringing together thousands of participants and connecting more and more environments. The Chief Labor Inspector took on the role of honorary patron of Safety Week.

Security Week is the biggest initiative of the agreement. Last year, it covered almost 40,000 employees. This year, it features twelve general contractors, three affiliated members, and numerous local agreements.

Construction is one of the industries where workplace accidents are most common. And although the number of accidents has been steadily decreasing for several years, according to the State Labor Inspectorate, in 2018, one and a half thousand people were injured as a result of accidents at work and up to 70 died.

The main and constant goal of the agreement is to achieve zero fatal accidents at Polish construction sites.

The Security Week will include m.in. first aid training, workshops and presentations on occupational safety practices at construction sites, safety demonstrations and presentations by PIP inspectors. This year's slogan "Never shrink” this is not an accident. Despite accidents on construction sites, we can still face extremely irresponsible behavior and violation or circumvention of procedures. As a result, project workers lose their health and even their lives.
