Karmar s. a. will build a new tire testing hall and expand the laboratory for Michelin Poland

We are pleased to inform you about the new investment that we, as a general contractor, are implementing on behalf of Michelin in Olsztyn.
The subject of the contract is the implementation of an executive project, reconstruction and expansion of the existing laboratory building, as well as the construction of a new tire testing hall with social, office and technical facilities. It is worth adding that the Olsztyn tire factory of the Michelin Group is one of the largest in Poland and the most modern in the world.

The laboratory building was designed in a monolithic structure, on feet and foundation benches, in a monolithic beam-plate system based on stilts (foot benches). A steel structure designed for installation will be built on the roof.

The building of the hall and social annex was designed mainly in reinforced concrete, prefabricated structures. The walls of the technical extension will be brick with a prefabricated ceiling made of HC plate, and inside the building there will be a steel structure prepared for installation and technological networks. The building will have five rooms (so-called boxes) with a strictly defined climate and specialized machines used for tire testing.

Interesting fact: photovoltaic panels with a total capacity of 50 kW will be installed on the roofs of both buildings, which can be compared to a 68 hp automobile engine.

Investments in numbers:
* Land area: 12,473. 09 m2
* Internal area: 7,641,00 m2
* Built-up area: 6,075. 29 m2

Work began in August 2021 and will last 18 months.
