Karmar General contractor of the ONKO BCG project for Biomed Lublin

Karmar will build a new production facility for Biomed Lublin SA. Thanks to the investment, a commercial line for the production of the oncological drug ONKO BCG will be created.

On July 21, 2022, Karmar S. A. and Biomed Lublin SA signed an agreement on the general implementation of the ONKO BCG building – a new cancer drug manufacturing plant in Lublin, which will be built within 16 months. The investment of PLN 69 million will be the second after the BCG Biotechnological Innovation Center (CBR) implemented for Biomed.

Due to very complex functional, installation and technological requirements, as well as the use of special engineering solutions, investments were classified as the highest, VI category of complexity of cubature objects.

The new building will contain rooms of the highest cleanliness classes, requiring the use of specialized equipment, maintaining the executive mode both at the design stage and at the execution stage, which will be confirmed by positive validation reports and qualifications of DQ, IQ and OQ. Generators of water for injection, pure steam and purified water will operate for the laboratory's needs. You can find the application here m.in. BMS, EMS, and CMAS systems that will monitor the maintenance of working conditions in test rooms and in the production area.

We are pleased that our partner in the construction of the new plant is Karmar s. a., owned by the Bouygues Construction Group. Cooperation today is developing very well, and the overall experience of construction of the Central Bank of the Russian Federation only confirms that it is a reliable partner. Karmar's offer, which was selected as part of the tender process, fully meets our expectations and ensures that our strategic investments will be implemented in accordance with the plan. The construction of the facility where production will be carried out is one of the stages of implementation of all investments. The next step is to purchase a production line.comments Maximilian SWINJARSKI, Chairman of the Management Board of Biomed Lublin SA.

Signing the contract for the construction of ONKO BCG is an important step towards implementing Biomed's BCG Product development Strategy. This is a major part of the project entitled "implementation of research and development results in the field of innovative technology for the production of a product for Immunotherapy of bladder cancer based on a Moro-attenuated BCG subtransplant of tuberculosis mycobacteria".

We are very pleased that the General implementation of such an important investment, BIOMED, puts in our hands. This is another joint implementation. Thanks to our partnership, we can participate in the implementation of the company's development plan by implementing technically innovative projects. The goal of this project, which will produce medicines used to treat cancer, the more satisfied its implementation is.

As with the construction of the first Development Research Center that we are implementing for Biomed, we will do everything possible to ensure that this investment is successful. I also want to emphasize that we highly value the professionalism and partnership in cooperation between our companies, and this obliges. - Joanna Makowiecka-GATZA, Chairman of the Management Board of KARMAR s.a.
