Final Acceptance Protocol for TZF Polfa S.A.’s Innovative Pharmaceutical Facility
We have signed the final acceptance protocol for one of the most advanced investments in our portfolio of commercial and industrial facilities. As the General Contractor, KARMAR S.A. has finalized the construction of a new highly potent drug factory and an R&D center for Tarchomińskie Zakłady Farmaceutyczne „Polfa” S.A.
The scope of the contract covered the comprehensive delivery of the facility as part of the project: "Building and installations for a new freeze-drying department, highly potent drug manufacturing, and R&D laboratory." The resulting complex is a technologically unique endeavor on both a national scale in Poland and across Central and Eastern Europe.
A Unique Life Sciences Project
The investment stands out for its extraordinary engineering complexity as well as the highest requirements regarding technological rigor and microbiological cleanliness:
- Pioneering Technology in Poland: This is the country's first pharmaceutical plant adapted to produce highly active (highly potent) drugs with the highest level of containment, up to OEB 5. up to OEB 5..
- Impressive Scale: Across a total floor area of nearly 11,600 m², we created an advanced ecosystem that includes sterile and oncology drug production zones, state-of-the-art research and development (R&D) laboratories, and extensive technical facilities serving as the technical "heart" of the entire building.
- International GMP Standards: All design, finishing, and installation solutions were carried out in compliance with the highest standards, qualifying the facility to meet the requirements of EU GMP, EAEU GMP, FDA, and UAE regulations.
Partnership at Every Stage of Delivery
Executing this demanding project required the KARMAR S.A. team to maintain not only precision in execution, but also tight coordination at the intersection of construction, HVAC installations, automation, and specialized pharmaceutical technology.
The completion of construction work does not end our involvement. KARMAR S.A. remains a partner to the Investor throughout the subsequent stages of process and product qualification, as well as the facility's preparation for audits by the Main Pharmaceutical Inspectorate (GIF). Our expertise and technical support will ensure a smooth and safe startup of the new infrastructure.
For KARMAR S.A., completing this project represents another major step in building our position as an expert in the Life Sciences segment. However, our greatest satisfaction comes from knowing that the infrastructure we built will serve to manufacture modern medicines that directly support oncology patients in Poland and worldwide.
